Socialight emphasizes the Amsterdam character of the festival. Various projects involve Amsterdam people of all ages and various districts in the implementation of the festival. For instance: primary school students create their own lampshades. These lampshades are attached to a grid of LED lights at one of the squares and exhibited during the festival. And a contest has been organized by students from the city: who is able to best decorate his bicycle with lights?
